Rong Bao Zhai

Traditionsreiche Werkstatt für Schreibwaren, Kalligraphie und Malerei mit Sitz in Liulichang, außerhalb des Hepingmen-Tors. Gegründet 1672 als Song Zhu Zhai (Pine and Bamboo Studio). 1894 Änderung zum heutigen Firmennamen Rong Bao Zhai (Studio of Glorious Treasures).

Wood cut in colours nach Tuschemalereien des Künstlers. Mappe mit 12 Pflanzen-, Tier- und Landschaftsdarstellungen sowie drei Textblättern. Verlag Rong Bao Zhai, Peking, 1953. In der originalen Seiden-Flügelmappe mit Titelkartusche, darin innenseitig mit dem typografisch bezeichneten und datierten Verlagsetikett.
Einige Blätter leicht bzw. etwas stockfleckig, wenige Blätter mit leichten Randläsionen, zwei mit deutlicheren Stauchungen im weißen Rand. Mappe mit leichten Fleckchen und unscheinbaren Gebrauchsspuren.

Wood cut in colours, ink and gold on silk. In the original, elaborately designed wooden box with silk padding as well as the original cardboard box.
Provenance: Otto Grotewohl estate, diplomatic gift from the Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China Zhou Enlai on the occasion of his visit to the GDR in 1954 and on the occasion of Otto Grotewohl's state visit to Beijing in 1955.
