1927–28 Bäckerlehre. 1934–36 Studium an der Kunstakademie von Simonson-Castelli in Dresden unter Woldemar Winkler. 1936–38 Studium an der Kunstakademie Dresden bei Rudolf Schramm-Zittau. 1938–39 Unterricht an der Akademie Simonson Castelli in Dresden. Ab 1945 lebte und arbeitete der Maler und Grafiker in Reinhardtsgrimma / Osterzgebirge.
