Deutscher Maler, Zeichner, Grafiker u. Illustrator. 1901–03 Studium an der Kunstakademie in München bei H. v. Habermann, P. Halm und F. v. Stuck. 1903 in Karlsruhe, 1904 in Düsseldorf, ab 1905 an der Kunstakademie Stuttgart bei Ch. Landenberger. 1907–12 Meisterschüler der Komp.-Klasse von A. Hölzel 1917/18 in Wiesbaden u. Darmstadt, ab 1918 in München ansässig. Mitglied der Darmstädter u. Berliner Sezession und Neuen Sezession. U.a. Studienreisen nach Italien, Dalmatien und Paris. Sein Oeuvre umfasst Stilleben, Landschaften, freie Figurenbilder und bibl. Themen. Während des Ersten Weltkrieges entstanden expressive Bilder und Bildskizzen mit Kriegsepisoden. In den letzten Jahren folgten Großaufträge zu Entwürfen für die Ausstattung an süd.-dt. Kirchen und verschied. Villen.
