Marianne Brandt
1893 Chemnitz – 1983 Kirchberg
1911–18 Studium der Malerei an der Hochschule für Bildende Kunst in Weimar sowie 1924–26 Studium am Bauhaus Weimar/Dessau unter Moholy-Nagy, Kandinsky u. Klee. Dort entstanden die heute bekannten Tee-Extraktkännchen, Kaffee- u. Teeservices u. Aschenbecher. 1949–51 Dozentin für Holz, Metall u. Keramik an der Dresdener Hochschule für Werkkunst, anschließend Mitarbeiterin am Institut für industrielle Gestaltung der Kunsthochschule Berlin bis 1954. Ab September 1952 abgekoppelt u. umbenannt in Institut für angewandte Kunst.
