Woldemar Hottenroth
1802 Dresden – 1894 ebenda
1817–28 Schüler an der Dresdner Akademie. Er absolvierte mehrfache Stipendien in Paris und Rom. Bis 1843 hielt er sich in Italien auf, wo er v.a. Landschaftsbilder, Portraits und Szenen aus dem Volksleben schuf. Nach langjährigem Aufenthalt in Hamburg und Rom siedelte er 1854 nach Dresden über. Dort war er bis zu seinen letzten Lebensjahren künstlerisch tätig.

Oil on cardboard. Verso inscribed in pencil probably by the artist's son: Hottenrot. Framed in mat with glass. Probably cut to the right and to the left borders. The right corner retouched and reinforced. Minimal relics of old mounting to the upper and lower borders (ca. 1 mm).
