1755 Prenzlau – 1805 Florenz

Deutscher Grafiker. Bruder von Jakob Philipp Hackert (1737–1807), den er 1776 nach Italien begleitete. Dort arbeitete er erst in Nepal und in Florenz sowie schließlich als Verleger in Rom.

Etching auf Bütten. Jeweils in der Platte bezeichnet "George Hackert sculp." re. sowie li. "Ph. Hackert pinxit 1792" bzw "1793". Mittig betitelt darunter li. bezeichnet "Si vende a Napoli presso l'Autore Incisore di S.M. Con Privilegio" und re. nummeriert "N1" und "N2".

Die vorliegende Ansichten gehören zu einer Folge von Radierungen nach sechs Gouachen von Jacob Philipp Hackert, die Georg Abraham Hackert mit Genemigung und im Auftrag Ferdinands VI. in Pompeji schuf.
