Studierte Violoncello und Musikwissenschaft an der TU Dresden, Karlsruhe und der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis bei Christophe Coin. Forscht zur Baugeschichte und Aufführungspraxis von Streichinstrumenten des 17. Jahrhunderts. Seit 2017 Professor für Alte Musik an der Hochschule für Musik in Dresden.
