Eine der prägendsten Dresdner Silberschmiede seiner Zeit. Um 1743 zum Meister ernannt. 1762 unter Friedrich August II. von Sachsen zum Hofjuwelier berufen. Aus der Familie traten weitere bedeutende Goldschmiede hervor.

Silver, cast and hammered. Baluster-shaped, five-faceted shaft on a flat, bell-shaped round base and slender spout with flared, wavy pinched rim. Spout, shaft and base decorated with lancet-shaped leaf motif in low relief. Each with the Dresden inspection mark at the foot, late 18th century (Rosenberg 1679) and the maker's mark of Carl David Schrödel (Rosenberg 1806).
