1688 wohl Frankreich – ?
Französischer Kaufmann. Sohn des Parisers Marchand Faïencier. 1730 versuchte Lemaire, zusammen mit dem sächsischen Minister und Manufakturdirektor Carl Heinrich von Hoym, in Meißen exakt nach japanischen Kakiemon-Vorlagen gefertigte Porzellane entgegen den kurfürstlich-königlichen Vorschriften in Frankreich als asiatische Originale zu verkaufen. Verhaftung im Jahr 1731.

Porcelain, glazed, decorated in polychrome overglaze colours and gold. Lid with brown border. Underside with sword mark in overglaze blue. Painting with small age-related imperfections, especially in the green tones.
The "Hôô bird and chrysanthemums' decoration was probably introduced in 1730 by Lemaire and Hoym and is based on a Japanese model in the Kakiemon style, which was in the collection of Augustus the Strong and was brought to Meissen in December 1729. After the Lemaire affair,

Porcelain, glazed, decorated in polychrome overglaze colours and gold, brown border. Sword mark in overglaze blue on the underside, as well as the polished inventory number of the Japanese Palace (known as the Johanneum number) "N-345–W' with traces of colour.
The decoration found here was introduced around 1730 following an order by Karl Heinrich Graf von Hoym and Rodolphe Lemaire.
