Designed by Mogens Björn-Andersen/ Birkerod. Makers mark of M. B.-Andersen. Circa 1939.
The silversmith M. Björn-Andersen worked for Georg Jensen until 1934. In 1935 he founded his own studio.

The dial 30 cm, with spandrels showing a crown holding putti. Seconds dial and calendar aperture to the engraved centre, signed. Movement striking the hour.

The figure of Achill leans on a rectangular case holding a lance in his left hand and pulls the arrow off his right heel.
The marble case is applied with decorative mouldings to the socle and has a three tier rectangular marble base, decorated with a fire gilded bronze acanthus leaf frieze and supported on four fire gilded claw feet. The white enamel dial has Roman numerals and a fire gilded bronze centre. The eight day movement countwheel strikes on a bell and the pendulum is silk

The fluted stems with acanthus leaf bases set on a foot of three claw feet and a two tier marble socle with a fire gilded bronze acanthus leaf frieze. The stems suporting six scrolled candle arms with gilded nozzles and a central arm. The stems, claw feet and arms of dark brown bronze, the nozzles, bases and acanthus leaf designs fire gilded. Cira 1830.
