1714 Biala (heute Woiwodschaft Großpolen) – 1754 Hagenau
Deutscher Porzellan- und Fayencemaler. Lehre bei Johann Gregorius Höroldt in der Meissener Manufaktur. 1736 Flucht nach Bayreuth, dann Ansbach und 1741 nach Fulda. 1746 Gründung der Höchster Porzellanmanufaktur. 1749 Wechsel nach Straßburg und Übernahme der Leitung der dortigen Hannong'schen Fayencemanufaktur. Bekannt durch kontrastreiche Malerei sowie durch seine fantastisch-märchenhaften Sujets von Tieren und Fabeltieren.

Porcelain, glazed, decorated in polychrome overglaze colours. To the bottom the sword marks in underglaze blue, the base rings to the inside with the maker's mark "2'.
Period of manufacture: probably around 1740–50.
Base ring of the cup with minimal chip. Saucer with an inconspicuously uneven glaze rim on the left edge.
Koppchen H. 4,4 cm, D. 7,4 cm, Untertasse H. 3 cm, D. 12,2 cm.
