Oil on canvas, doubliert. Unsigniert. In einem goldfarbenen, masseverzierten Schmuckrahmen mit eck- und mittebetonendem Dekor gerahmt.

Die Vorlage von Raffael, auch "Die schöne Gärtnerin" genannt, entstand kurz vor Übersiedlung des Künstlers von Florenz nach Rom. Es ist das letzte einer kleinen Werkgruppe ähnlich konzipierter Mariendarstellungen, die in den Jahren zwischen 1504 und 1508 in Florenz entstanden. Vgl. Spannränder des Bildträgers mit umlaufender Papierkaschierung. Malschicht partiell mit Frühschwundkrakelee. Punktuelle kleine Malschicht-Verluste, teils ohne Kittung eingetönt. Mehrere Altretuschen unter dem Firnis, u.a. eine kreisförmige (ca. 4–5 cm) re.Mi. im Hintergrund. Firnis gegilbt, mit kleinen Fleckchen auf der Oberfläche. Keilrahmen im Zuge einer Restaurierung erneuert.
