064   Hermann Kohlmann "The Vesuvius in the morning light". 1935.

Hermann Kohlmann 1907 Veltheim (Schweiz) – 1982 Dresden

Oil on fibreboard. Signed "HKohlmann" lower left To the reverse titled "HKohlmann" upper rigth. Framed in a gold-coloured, historicising frame with pearl staff and leaf decoration.

In 1934 Hermann Kohlmann was awarded the Hugo-Göpfert-Prize (Rome Prize), which was connected with a stay in Italy. The artist travelled the country until 1936, spending time in Rome, Venice, Naples, Capri and Sicily.

Corners of the fibreboard bumped. A small defect to the paint layer in the area of the stones lower left as well as in the boat area lower middle.
