1919 Beginn einer Ausbildung als Dekorationsmaler in Meerane. In jener Privatschule Bekanntschaft mit dem Kuehl-Schüler E. Müller-Gräfe aus Dresden. 1916–21 Studium an der Dresdner Kunstakademie bei R. Sterl. Ab 1925 Reisen nach Rügen, Kärnten, München und Österreich und Jugoslawien. Lebte bis 1945 in München und anschließend in Hindelang im Allgäu.

Mischtechnik auf Papier. Signiert und datiert u.li. Nochmals signiert u.re. Mit dem Autogramm der Portraitierten versehen o.li. Passepartout, Rahmen. Elly Ney (1882 Düsseldorf- 1968 Tutzing), deutsche Pianistin, war Schülerin von Leschetitsky und Emil von Sauer (Liszt-Schüler) und nach ihrer Ausbildung eine der bekanntesten Beethoven-Interpreten ihrer Zeit.
