Dreiseitig prismatisch und geschweift geformter Korpus, flächig mit einem, in Schildpatt eingelegten, ornamental floralen Messingdekor mit Gravuren. Die horizontalen Kanten mit plastisch ausgeformten weiblichen Masken, die vertikalen Kanten jeweils mit C-Voluten, der Abschluss mit einem reliefierten Rocailledekor.

Schildpatt insgesamt mit Kratzspuren, partiellem Abrieb sowie minimalen Aufwölbungen oder Rissbildung, partiell minimale Verfärbungen sowie teils Ergänzungen. Ränder restauriert und retuschiert. Die Messingeinlagen oxidiert, partiell mit Fehlstellen oder Ablösungen.

1085 Napoléon III. – jardinière. France. 1850's - 1870's.

Wood, with a walnut veneer, with stenciling, polished with a varnish and partly ebonized. Bronze, zinc, painted black and green. Shield-shaped curved body with four small foots. All sides with a central rectangualr veneer of dark grained texture, framed by a fine frieze and a broad veneered ribbon of grained texture. Bronze fitttings. Handles to the sides. Zinc inset with handles.

Veneer with cracking due to the age, partly with pressure marks, to the lower edge with small bulging of the veneer. Fittings painted by a later hand. Zinc inset with lost of paint, cracks and dents, to the bottom with an restoration.
