1945 Studium an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste unter Prof. A. Paris von Gütersloh. 1919 Mitbegründer der "Wiener Schule des Phantastischen Realismus". 1950–62 lebte er in Paris. Bedeutende Künstlerfreundschaften mit Salvador Dali, Jean Cocteau und frz. Existenzialisten. Nach mehreren Reisen und Arbeitsaufenthalten im Kloster Rückkehr nach Wien. Zahlreiche internationale Ausstellungen und Architekturausstattungen.
