Danach freischaffender Künstler. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg Verlust der Ehefrau, des Sohnes sowie seines gesamten Besitzes. Nach Kriegsende Neuanfang in Delmenhorst.

Oil on canvas. Signiert u.li. "CBERNDT". In einem messingfarbenen profilliertem Rahmen gerahmt.

Malschicht im u. Bereich mit leichtem Frühschwundkrakelee. Verso Mi.u. zwei längliche Verkittungen, recto dort mit kleinen Retuschen im Bereich der Blüten. Gehrungen des Keilrahmens leicht geöffnet.

90,4 x 80,7 cm, Ra. 106,3 x 95 cm.
