1956 Dresden – lebt und arbeitet in Dresden und Berlin

Als gebürtiger Dresdner studierte K. von 1977 bis 1979 an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in seiner Heimatstadt Malerei und Grafik bei Gerhard Kettner. Unzufrieden mit der politischen Situation in der DDR siedelte K. 1982 wie etliche seiner Malerkollegen nach Berlin (West) über. Es folgten zahlreiche Stipendien in Italien, Frankreich und Brasilien. 1992 wurde K. zum Professor für Malerei und Grafik an seiner Ausbildungsstätte berufen.
