Erster Unterricht beim Bautzner Maler R. Erdmann. 1947–54 Studium an der HS für Werkkunst und der HS für angew. Kunst in Dresden und Berlin. 1954–57 Aspirantur an der KHS Berlin-Weißensee. 1958–79 künstler. Mitarb. an der TU Dresden, Sektion Architektur. Seit 1979 Lehrauftrag ebd. und an der HBK Dresden. 1990 Atelier im Dresdner Künstlerhaus eingerichtet.
