Christian Gottlob Hammer
1779 Dresden – 1864 ebenda
Ab 1794 Studium an der Dresdner Kunstakademie, später Meisterschüler von Johann Philipp Veith. 1816 Mitglied der Kunstakademie, 1829 Ernennung zum außerordentlichen Professor. Hammer schuf vor allem Landschafts- und Stadtansichten von Dresden und seiner Umgebung, wobei er sich der Zeichnung genauso bediente, wie der Radierung und dem Kupferstich. Hammer reiht sich in den Kreis der "Dresdner Romantiker" ein und zählt zu einem der bedeutendsten Künstler seiner Zeit.
